I Wonder ....

It feels so chilly outside - I wonder if we will soon have a repeat of last year which happened about this time!  Brrrrrr ........

My oh My what a Handsome Young Man!

This is my dear grandson Austin.  He turned 11 years old in June and has just started to attend Middle School.  Besides being a real sweetie and always so loving, he is the next up and coming Wayne Gretsky on the ice and sings like an angel !  What a beautiful voice he has!

Nana and Poppa are mighty proud of our boy!

It's starting to Look Like Christmas

This is it for this Christmas ... I am pooped!    The three kitties, Zoe, Keisha and Cheyenne are busily rearranging everything after I put the various things in their place ... I am finding little bits of this and that everywhere ! LOL

Most of what you see here was made by myself with the exception of the big stuffed Christmas bear, Jingle all the Way, elf in hat and the big snowman.   I used to love woodworking and tole painting too but soon found out that you can't do everything and something had to go in order to make time for quilting!! LOL

I love this time of year!

Brrrrr ...

There is a nip in the air today but the furnace is chugging away and we are toasty warm inside.

Today is grocery shopping and putting up the rest of the Christmas decorations in the house.  I started to decorate yesterday - with the kitties help.  Everything I put out, they had to have a good sniff at.  I will be putting the garland up the railings on the stairway today ... they love bobbing the little red apples back and forth that I hang from it.  They are so comical !

I will post some photos later ... it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas ! ;-)

Fall at its Best!

These gorgeous photos were taken at Butchart Gardens in Victoria in our beautiful province of British Columbia.  The colours you see are only leaves ... amazing!

It's Monday ....

What a nice relaxing weekend we have just enjoyed ... not too hectic, just nice and relaxed for hubby and myself.  We took my B-Line and Juki over and set it up at a 10' frame at daughter Briggy's yesterday.  Two of my daughters, Traci and Briggy, are budding young quilters and are over the moon with Momma's giftie to them. ;-)  I have had great fun top quilting the last few years with my B-Line and know that the girls will enjoy working with it too.  Only 3 more days 'til I receive my Handiquilter - I am so excited and have - would you believe - about 15 quilts waiting to be top quilted !!

It being Monday today means another skating lesson for Emmy and Lauryn.  This is their last of 5 lessons but Nana has signed them up for another 8 at the next level starting the first week in January ... the girls are doing so well with learning how to skate and Mommy and Nana can be seen each week sitting on the bench thumbs up and cheering all the way.

Of course, an added bonus after skating is Nana's treat for the girls with a Slushie and their choice of candy and then back to their home where Poppa joins us after work for a lovely dinner.  Monday's are one of my most favourite days!

Along with everything else that happens on Monday's, so comes housework ... not so much fun bt I LOVE a nice clean house.

The dayplanner looks nice and clear this week ... I hope to get much accomplished in the quilt studio ... wouldn't that be lovely? ;-)

Christmas Came Early!

Gerry decided to give me my Christmas present early ... and WOW - what a Christmas present it is.

Delivery comes December 1st, installation December 2nd and 5 hours instruction December 3rd.

I'm over the moon !!!! ;-)

Dear Little Mason

Another special day with a visit from my darling little grandson, Mason.  Isn't he adorable?  When he left, he was blowing kisses to Nana like crazy.  He is such a big boy at 16 months of age!

Christmas Banner is Finished!

I have finished embroidering the Christmas banner I was making and am so pleased with how it turned out.  I took it into show and tell at our guild meeting last Wednesday and lots of people asked which website I had gotten it off as they wanted to make it too.

Introducing Cheyenne!!

What is better than 1 kitty - why two, of course - and what is even better than 2 kitties ... well, yes 3!

We adopted our little Cheyenne three weeks ago and she is a little "dickens" I can tell you!  She was born on August 6, 2011 and is a little monkey terrorizing the two bigger cats.  Really she just wants to play being a playful little kitten.  More than once she has pounced on a twitching tale only to have them turn around and give her a low growl.

The grandkiddies adore her ... they love to bundle her up in a receiving blanket and pretend she is their baby!  Cheyenne absolutely loves all the attention she is getting.

Isn't she a cutie pie?

Busy Times!

I can't believe how long it has been since my last post!  The days are flying past and I can feel the excitement of this blessed Christmas season fast approaching.  I have lots of pressies already wrapped and waiting to go under the tree ... pressies that I have made for members of the family that I can hardly wait to see the look on their lovely faces!

My little granddaughters, Emma and Lauryn, are doing so well with their skating lessons and really picked up some speed on the ice!  What a joy it is for us watching but for them to look up while giving it their all to see their Mommy and Nana sitting there with the biggest smiles on our faces and thumbs up!  It has become a lovely habit of Nana and Poppa going back to their home afterwards for a delicious dinner together ... these are such fabulous times!

I have been getting lots of quilting done and will post a photo later of the Christmas banner I have just finished.  I really am very pleased with it and the pattern was free on the internet too ... an added bonus!

I'm heading out today for a full day of fun quilt shop hopping with several of my buddies across the border.          Our days together always promises to be lots of laughs and good fellowship ... I am indeed blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Today will be a very busy day as it will be home for a quick supper and then off to a quild-related meeting this evening for a couple of hours.  Our guild has its bi-annual quilt show in May 2012 and I am part of a 15 person quilt show committee for this fun event.  It is going to be a really terrific event as it always is with some different activities taking place at this one.

Where do these weeks go????

Well, here we are in the middle of another week already!  Life is moving by too fast!

Yesterday there was another meeting to attend and out for lunch with some friends afterwards.  By the time I got home, there wasn't much left of the day to go into my quilt studio to play.  I basically gathered up some sewing projects to take along to my quilting group today. l-)

So, having said that ... I am now going to get ready to hop into the shower and officially start my day off with some good friends, good food and quilting!
