Wow ... another sunny day!

What a lovely sunny day this has been although I have not been able to go outside and play in the garden today,

I belong to our local Langley Quilters' Guild and have enjoyed being a member since 2002.   We are holding our 5th bi-annual quilt show in May of 2012 and the Chairperson of our show approached me to ask if I would consider solicitating and coordinating the vendors for this event.  I happily agreed.  So that is what I have been doing today rather than playing outside! http://www.langleyquiltersguild.com/index.htm

This is a great photo taken by one of our talented guild members who has certainly captured the feeling of our wonderful guild.  The photo is one of several great shots that graces our guild's greeting cards.

Tomorrow is our actual guild meeting which I really look forward to every month.  Maybe - just maybe - I will be able to find my way back into my quilt studio on Thursday - we'll see! ;-)

Yes ... Spring is here!

I just love the springtime!  Such beauty with all the gorgeous blossoms in bloom - in BC anyways!  This photo was taken yesterday afternoon.

We took Emma and Lauryn to Easter service at our church this morning.  They were so excited to put on their new outfits that Nana and Poppa had bought for them.  Emma said that she woke up at 6 a.m. this morning and wanted to get dressed right away!  LOL  I can't believe how fast they are growing up!

To round off our wonderful 3 days with our little girls, we came home from church and had a nice lunch and then took them to see Rio at the matinee.  It is such a great movie for kids (and adults) with lots of really funny moments throughout.

Just packing up now to take the girls back home to Mommy ... they are very excited to see their Mommy after 3 days!  Nana, on the other hand, is really going to miss their sweet laughter and presence around the house!

Keisha and Zoe (our kitties) will venture out again after the girls have left ... LOL

Tomorrow is our big family Easter dinner - it will be wonderful to see the whole family together again!

What A Fun Day!

Well it was another busy but fun day on Saturday with the kiddies.  We took Emma and Lauryn to the Fraser Valley Livestock auction this afternoon and they saw bunnies, chickens, doves, goats, sheep, a donkey and even the most adorable Burmese Mountain puppies you have ever seen.  This was their first time ever going to an auction and they asked what language the autioneer was speaking and did he have a problem speaking so fast! LOL  Afterwards we went out for a nice lunch and then took them to get their faces painted at the same show that we saw African Cats at.  A trip to the local library was next to get their books for the week and then back home here again.

As a treat, we allowed them to stay up a little past their bedtime to watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory last night with a treat! ;-)

Grandkiddies are such a blessing!

What a Lovely Sunny Good Friday

What a beautiful sunny day this has been.  We took the kiddies grocery shopping this morning and stocked up again on food and treats!  These kiddies have such wonderful appetites.

It has been such a lovely day to work out in the garden in beautiful sunny weather.  Temperatures reached 60 degrees today.  The grass has seen its first cut of the season and the weeding is all done in the front of the house.  I am not looking forward to tackling the back.  It looks lovely when finished but is a full two day job of spring cleanup.

I have cleaned up the barbie and we are going to enjoy our first bbq of the season and cook some steaks for dinner tonight.

Another wonderful day!

Nana Goes On A Field Trip

What a fun day this has been.  I tagged along on a field trip today with the whole school that 3 of our little grandkiddies attend.  We went to Colossus to see the movie "African Cats."  It was a wonderful show.  Kind of a tear-jerker in some spots - life is anything but kind to these dear animals on the harsh African Serengeti.

We have 2 of our 8 grandkiddies staying with us until Sunday evening and have lots of fun things planned to do with them this long Easter weekend.

Life is good!

Cherry Blossom Splendor

There were a lot of changes to this design along the way but I finally ended up with a wallhanging that was met with much appreciation at a quilting class I recently taught at our local guild.  I decided to make the flower blossoms and buds using a raw edge technique with hand sewn glass seed beads for the centre of the blossoms. The Asian words stand for love, family, strength and the Chinese dragon.  It was such a fun class to teach!

Work in Progress

This blogging is a new experience for me, so please bear with me.  I am looking forward to getting this up and running with all kinds of neat stuff! ;-)

I just noticed too that I have inadvertently hit something I shouldn't have and am now indeed following myself!!! This is a very clear indication that I am not clear on this blogging concept!! LOL

I am no longer following myself!!!! LOL  Thanks Rhianon ;-)
