Two More Kitties Find a Loving Home!
Today I joined my daughter Briggy and her girls Emmy and Lauryn and we went to Katie's Place in Maple Ridge to find the girls their 2 new kitties. What a pair of lovely kittens they adopted too ... Stella, the little girl is 4 months old and the boy, Chase, is 5 months old. They are so cuddly and when I just called over to the house, the kittens were snuggled up with the girls fast asleep! What a special day! Ahhhhh, another two kitties who have found a warm and loving forever home!

This is how things happen .........
Let me tell you a little story ...
It all started when this dear friend whose name is Joanne
showed me this little applique pattern that she was working on
pretty, right?
Well, I couldn't resist making it so Joanne kindly loaned me her magazine - by the way, the magazine is McCall's Quilter's Workshop, Autumn 2011 issue. I do not dabble in small prints and this, of course, should have small prints. So buddy Joanne kindly gave me quite a few 2" squares to get me started with!
I was all caught up in the excitement of making this little wallhanging and mentioned it to my buddy Leslie
Now, Leslie does not applique and this is what this pattern is all about. So one day recently, Leslie and I went over to buddy Joanne's house and Leslie got to see this beautiful little wallhanging that Joanne has almost finished! Yes, you got it ... Leslie was smitten! So a quick little lesson was had by Leslie. Now Leslie does not quilt with small print fabrics either, so Joanne very kindly gave her some 2" blocks too to get her started. That's the kind of buddy you want to have ... a quilter friend who shares!
Well, as life goes, Leslie, Joanne and I were emailing back and forth with another buddy Denise
she asked what all the chatter was about "the gri." I then sent her a photo of the pattern we were all doing. Yep ... you guessed it ... she is going to make it too! LOL We are going to see Denise today and check out her small prints! LOL
I will leave you with this image for now ... this is my start on my "Charming" journey ..... OMG! More later! ;-

Momma Gets Lots of Help!
I always get lots of help (well, if you can call it that) in my quilt studio.
When it is time to venture in there, I call out "come on girls" and all 3 kitties, wherever they are, come galloping into my studio. They are quite mischievious at times, so I breathe a sigh of relief when they take their "cat naps!" LOL

Makes me think of summer!
I have just finished another little project ... a little candle mat. These little projects are so much fun to work on. They are so handy to pop into your bag to take along with you and whip up fast.
Here is my finished project (please disregard the cat fur!) What is it with cats and felt ... I have to keep mine under lock and key!! LOL

Fun with my Lauryn!
Gerry and I are blessed to be able to enjoy having our little Lauryn with us this weekend. What an angel she is!
KITTIES ARE JUST LITTLE PEOPLE WITH FUR COATS
Today is Saturday and Lauryn and I took the 30 pillows the grandkiddies and Nana made to Katie's Place in Maple Ridge. This is the most wonderful animal shelter I have ever been to. Those dear little kitties are so loved and caging is never done unless the kitty has just come in from being rescued and they have to monitor them for eating etc.
Lauryn tells me she wants to go back there tomorrow with Mommy and big sister Emma to pick out their very own special kitty and give him or her a forever home!

Look, Nana ... the balloons are sticking to me! |

A noble man is one who plants trees for shade knowing that he will not live long enough to enjoy!

The Greatest Character!
The greatest character of a person is by how he or she treats those who can do nothing for them!
Our Class Together

A Great Day with 21 Friends!
I taught my African Sunshine class yesterday to 21 very enthusiastic guild members. One dear lady told me she awoke at 3:30 a.m. full of anticipation for our class and couldn't get back to sleep! LOL
What a wonderful group of ladies - I thoroughly enjoyed my day of teaching yesterday! Our class was more of a party atmosphere with lots of laughter, learning new tricks and sharing of fabrics - ohhhhhhh, the fabrics .... I was in fabric heaven just looking at the beautiful rainbow of colours piled high on each table. To make this quilt with completely different fabrics for each template, would have taken 115 various fabrics ... some pieces only measuring about a 5" square, but a lot of fabric nevertheless! I think most ladies had just about that much! LOL
What a wonderful guild we have! Our members are THE best!!
