Did We Really Go to Cabo?????

It seems so long ago, when in actual fact it was only 2 weeks ago that we arrived back home freom beautiful Cabo.  The weather "dipped" to 84 degrees one day, but the rest of the time it was sunny and hot and ranged between 90-94 degrees with no humidity!  What a wonderful climate!

We stayed in the Riu Santa Fe in Cabo San Lucas and had an amazing oceanview suite!

A wonderful holiday with a wonderful man!

My Next BIG Project

Isn't she a beauty?

Not only is this a gorgeous quilt - designed by Kathy Nakajima of Toyko and featured as part of Quilters Newsletter magazine as their cover collection - but it has a very special meaning for me.

It has been made by my very dear friend Maria.  She calls it her "Tomorrow Quilt."  Maria was the recipient of a kidney transplant many years ago and each year she makes a large quilt to say "thanks" even though efforts to find the donor have proved fruitless!  This was her quilt this year.  Maria entered this beautiful masterpiece into our Langley Quilters' Guild Quilt Show in May and won not only Best bed size quilt in the show but ran away in votes for Viewer's Choice!!!!  All the flowers were hand appliqued!

I have been lucky enough to find the pattern (2007), I have my fabric all bought and my foundation patterns have been copied!

Thank you my dear Maria for being such an inspiration to me!

YEA!

A message our little Emma left for me on the board while she was here (love the spelling!)

Emma is our family's up and coming quilter extroadinaire!  Only 9 years old and she has already made several quilts and sews like a pro!

God willing, I will be alive when the day comes to see her sitting next to me at our guild gatherings!  How wonderful would that be - and how proud would this Nana feel! ;-)

This Says it All !!

Our Grandson is Growing Up!

Our grandson went to his first dance on Friday ... WOW ... am I really that old????

Is it me just being a proud Nana ... but isn't he a dead ringer for Justin Bieber?  He sings like him too ... he has the voice of an angel !  Nana and Poppa are mighty proud of our young man! ;-)

New Kitty Toy

Being indoor cats, our kitties are always on the lookout for new and interesting things to get into around the house.

This was a simple tunnel I made for them a couple of days ago.  They are always chasing each other through it.  It is as much fun to watch them as it is for them playing in it! ;-)
