Rainy but Relaxing!

Well the weather could be a lot better!  Yesterday it poured buckets - today is overcast and damp!

We relaxed in the rv yesterday and did some reading and watched a movie and I managed to get a lot done on my latest Sashiko project. Today we are popping out to go to a couple of fabric shops ... I know, I know!

Hubby announced this morning that he does not like the look of the forecast for the next two weeks of his holiday so has been checking on the internet for anywhere that we can go where we can slap on sunscreen, wear sunglasses and swim!  It looks as though we might be heading to Los Cabos for 7-10 days!

One never knows with hubby and I where we will end up ... I love the spontaneity of it all !! ;-)

So, while the weather might not be as nice as we would like it to be here ... it looks as though we will eventually find the sun ... just not in Ferndale, Washington! LOL

Time Away in the RV

First of all, I can't believe a whole month has gone by since I last posted on my blog and secondly, I can't believe another summer is upon us and we are out enjoying our first rv trip of the season!  Unbelievable how the time flies!

So much has happened since my last post ...

Our guild has had our quilt show and what a show it was!  Nothing, but nothing, could have been improved upon.  We even showed a handsome profit this year - the only other time we showed such a profit was 10 years ago, which was our very first quilt show.  I entered into our challenge, the Kourageous Kids and main portion of the show with several quilts I entered.

Our 2011/12 guild year is winding down now and I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming guild year and serving out the second part of my two year term as President.  We have such exciting things happening on the horizon, least of not is going to be our 10 year guild anniversary celebration!

Wow ... thinking back over the last month ... we have had such fun family celebrations too.  There was Mother's Day and oh, how my 5 girls and their dear families spoiled me!  I felt so honoured !  I received so many lovely cards and beautiful gifts of flowers and stepping stones for the garden.  All will be momentoes for years to come!

Our youngest grandchild, little Mason, turned a big 2 years old ... where does the time go!  He is too cute!

Of course, the guild has kept me very busy which is to be expected but is very gratifying!

I have so many lovely photos to post but they will have to wait until I get home unfortunately.

So, here we are now ... away in the rv in Ferndale, WA. at one of our favourite spots - The Cedars RV Resort - we have seen so many friends we know here as they are all members too and come here often.

Yesterday was lovely - nice and bright and sunny.  Today is raining ... we took advantage of the dry spell this morning and cleaned the awning and now the rain is finishing off the job of washing it off for us.  The kitties are with us and loving being away with us ... they know this is their home away from home and have all the comforts of back home here.

Well, that's all for now ... I know I will be back writing on my blog lots from hereonin again as life is slowing down a tad for the summer months.

A Fun Weekend Ahead!

Tomorrow marks the beginning of our 3 day quilt-a-thon ... yahoo!!!!

There will be 22 of us ladies getting together and meeting hours upon hours each day to delve into all those wonderful quilting projects ... some of which have yet to be finished from time gone by and others so brand new that we have not had time to think about!

All our food is going to be provided, so yay ... no cooking!

I will be taking lots of photos over the 3 days and will let you in on the fun we have had!

Now to go and pack up ......

A Little Tug on the Heart Strings!

I have received many beautiful flowers from my children over the Easter weekend, but none that touched my heart as much as this little bouquet of wildflowers picked from a ravine!

Briggy and her two little girls came over for dinner last night.  When the door opened, there stood little Lauryn holding this bouquet of wildflowers in her little hands and said ... "we picked these just for you, Nana, from the ravine!"

These moments truly melt my heart and make every little worry disappear

God Bless the Children!

A Wonderful Easter!

What a wonderful Easter celebration we had with those in our dear family who could make it.  There was lots of good food,  pretty flowers, laughter and that "feel good" feeling that comes over us when being with those we love!

Our Easter Feast

Not long now before the family arrive for our Easter feast of roast turkey and all the trimmings.  What would Easter be without an egg hunt too.  It's going to be great to have the family together to celebrate this special time of the year.

Life is indeed good!

It must be almost summertime!

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since my last blog entry!  Life is so busy ... not complaining as I have the luxury of doing what I want to do every day - LOVE retirement!  Hubby tells me if this is what retirement is like, he will keep working!! LOL

Today was the beginning of spring cleanup for us.  The sun was shining and it was beautiful outside so hubby and I decided to scrub down the deck and garden furniture.  It took us most of the day but the efforts are well worth it!

Looking good!

Can hardly wait to fire up this baby!

After ... all ready for some nice warm weather and a marguerita!

How pretty!

Look at my strawberry plants poking their heads out ... the grandkiddies will be delighted!
