Another Sunny AND Exciting Day!

What a beautiful sunny weekend this has been!  This morning after breakfast Gerry and I set off to do some exploring and shopping.  We drove all the way along Chuckanut Drive - the scenery is unbelievably beautiful along this drive as you can see by the following photos ...

The most exciting part of our day today though was going to look at new rv's.  We are very pleased with our 2007 Laredo fifth wheel and it certainly has everything (and then some) of the features to make "camping" a wonderful experience.  We are making plans for several big trips in the future though and want to step up into a bigger and newer rv.  We have our sights set on a 343 RL 2011 Montana High Country.  What a fabulous RV this is, complete with 4 slides, fireplace, centre island,  gorgeous cherry hardwood cabintry and 42" pop-up HDTV just to name a few of the features.  We have been offered a fabulous trade-in $ value for our Laredo as it still looks brand new after 4 years of use.  I will keep you posted on this ...

Fun Times!

Yesterday I popped back across the border to run some errands and to pick up Emmy and Lauryn from school as I usually do on Thursdays - this is special Nana time and we always do something fun and different on these days.  It was such a hoot yesterday as Auntie Traci and cousin Austin came along with us on our adventures.  We all went to Captain Kids for a couple of hours - a trip there wouldn't be any fun without slurpees (blueberry as you will see) and potato chips.  We stayed there until closing at 5 p.m. and then met Poppa at White Spot for dinner.  A really fun afternoon/evening and Nana was pooped afterwards - evidence once again that these little darlings really know how to tire me out or am I just getting older and not able to keep up as well ! LOL  After dropping the kiddies off at home, I popped back across the border and got back to the rv at about 9 p.m.

Gerry is on his way down to the rv now and we are going to thoroughly enjoy what promises to be a lovely warm weekend relaxing, swimming and bbq'ing in the sun.

Our Beautiful Big Family

I am so proud of my big, wonderful family.  Here are our 5 daughters and 7 of our little grand-darlings taken with Gerry and myself at the occasion of Jen's wedding.  Missing from this photo is our darling little Mason who was born after this photo was taken.

Mystery Quilt

Well, I managed while the hockey playoffs were on this evening, to finish off the mystery quilt that our little  quilting group, The Nine Patchers, has been working on.  Thanks to our coordinator, Leslie, for this fun class.  I am really pleased with the end result!

Go Canucks Go!

Now I have to tell you that I am not generally a hockey fan but I must admit that the hockey playoffs are pretty exciting!  Did that really happen ... 19 seconds before game end, Canucks score the one and only goal of the game?  WOW!  I'm not surprised really as this photo was taken off the coast of Vancouver Island today! LOL

Skype is Wonderful !

This evening as usual Emma and Lauryn called Nana on Skype.  I so look forward to hearing from all the grandkiddies and finding out what mischief they have been getting into that day.  Today the girls had a friend over and, of course, it was great fun to get her on Skype too as you can see!

Oh, to be a child again!! ;-)

Chilly Day

Well, here it is - Wednesday again! ;-)  The days still seem to fly by even when one is relaxing! LOL

Sadly hubby left to go back across the border this morning to pick up the work trail where he left off.  Let's see - I figure retirement is only about 17 months away!  YAY!

It is a chilly day today with the sun trying its best to poke its head out - not a perfect day for sitting outside to read, so I think I will do some more quilting.  I have been able to finish a yearlong block of the month from the guild and have posted a photo here.  I have branched off into making art quilts now so this has been a change of pace and I have not had to resort to using my seam ripper - unlike when I design and make an art quilt - goodness, there is a lot of ripping out and changing of minds there! ;-)

Now that I have finished the yearlong BOM, I am going to work on my "Henrietta" blocks.  I am two months behind on those, with the June block coming out in another 4 days!  Will post photos of those too when I get them done.
